Upward Bound House
Donate here if…
You have everyday clothing to donate and want to support an organization local to West LA.
Mission
To eliminate homelessness among families with children in our community by providing housing, supportive services, and advocacy.
Upward Bound House strives to reduce the number of homeless families with minor children who are hungry and living on the streets of Los Angeles, by helping them access basic resources and successfully transition into their own homes with the capacity to remain there permanently.
What Upward Bound Does
Upward Bound House serves families experiencing homelessness who have at least one adult with custody of a child under 18. Through their temporary housing, permanent housing, aftercare, health and wellness, and pantry programs, UBH aims to ensure that homelessness is as brief as possible and the families have less barriers to obtain and remain in permanent housing.
Why I Love This Organization
I was first introduced to Upward Bound while working at goop. Our company hosted a clothing drive, and the organization was incredibly appreciative of our support. I was excited to find an organization local to West LA where I could bring my clothing and know it was going directly to those most in need. UBH continues to be a leading organization supporting families experiencing homelessness and I’m excited to continue to support this org.
What They Accept
Men’s, women's, and unisex clothing, items for young adults (many clients are younger 20s and 30s), children and baby clothing (all ages), professional clothes, socks, underwear, shoes etc.
Please note Upward Bound House is not currently accepting used clothing or shoes.
